What I Write

My young adult novels are dark, edgy, and realistic. Although I love paranormal and fantasy books, I prefer to create stories that could really happen (and in many cases, really are happening). For me, the echo of a story set firmly in the real world always haunts me long after I've read the final word. If you like Ellen Hopkins, Jay Asher, and Neal Shusterman, you might like my books, too.

Edits, Edits, Edits...

So, I thoroughly enjoyed Don Maass' presentation at the Backspace Conference, so, of course, I had to buy his book.  Now that I'm about 3/4 of the way through, I have a handle on where I'm headed with the final draft.  Sooooo, don't be surprised if I don't blog for a bit! I'll be a busy little bee for a while.

Also, for you awesome peeps who have commented on my blog posts, I'm not ignoring you!  I am unable to comment on my own blog for some strange reason (I think it's a glitch with Blogger) so I hope to post some responses soon!

It was wonderful to meet all of the talented writers at Backspace and pleeeease stay in touch!

  1. Finally fixed the weird, Blogger log-in issue! YAY! I had to delete my browsing history and restart IE/computer/life. Hope that helps with your posting problems.

So wonderful meeting you at Backspace. We'll definitely stay in touch! Maybe meet in DC in October? *crosses fingers*

About Me

I'm a writer of contemporary teen fiction. My bookshelf is SLAMMED with young adult novels and I should be on some sort of twelve step program for my spending habits in Barnes and Noble. And, for the record, I LIKE having real books, so no Nook or Kindle for this gal.
