What I Write

My young adult novels are dark, edgy, and realistic. Although I love paranormal and fantasy books, I prefer to create stories that could really happen (and in many cases, really are happening). For me, the echo of a story set firmly in the real world always haunts me long after I've read the final word. If you like Ellen Hopkins, Jay Asher, and Neal Shusterman, you might like my books, too.

Cool Stuff

Okay, so I've got, like, three seconds to do a blog post while my toddler pulls all the clean clothes out of the laundry basket....SO, here we go!

#1 Cool thing going on right now:

In 4 days, I will do my B&N Gift Card drawing!!!  In case you missed the post, check it out here.  The gist is that you have a chance to win a $10 gift card to Barnes & Noble by simply "Liking" my FB page.  Good luck, everyone!  As it stands right this second, you have a 1/143 chance to win!

#2 Cool thing going on right now:

I found this amazing site called Novel Publicity on Facebook.  Basically, it's a networking site that helps authors promo their Facebook pages.  Every Friday is "Karmic Friday" and Novel Publicity hosts their "Karmic Liking Chain."  All you have to do is post your link (FB pages only) in the comments section and every author will Like your page.  In return, you are expected to return the Karma by Liking them back.  It's actually pretty cool, so check it out next Friday!!!

#3 Cool thing going on right now:

A hurricane is hitting somewhere OTHER than Florida this week.  Best wishes to the peeps in the NE, stay safe up there!!!

  1. Thanks for the info about the Karmic chain. Cool idea--I'll use it, too. Found your blog via Janet Reid's homonym story and thought yours was one of the better stories--the homonyms were almost invisible. Good work! I finished Life As We Knew it this summer. I loved it, too.

About Me

I'm a writer of contemporary teen fiction. My bookshelf is SLAMMED with young adult novels and I should be on some sort of twelve step program for my spending habits in Barnes and Noble. And, for the record, I LIKE having real books, so no Nook or Kindle for this gal.
